This deep blue teapot possesses an allure that naturally draws the eye. As the light shifts, the delicate embossing on its body slowly emerges, allowing the blue to reveal varying depths. Its form is rounded, and the handle's curve is light and graceful, as if designed to be easily picked up and set down in daily life.

The initial idea for "Blå Eld" emerged in 1949. At that time, Hertha Bengtson was searching for a language of objects that would be close to everyday life — relying on form, texture, and glaze itself, rather than additional embellishments. The series officially launched the following year and became one of her most recognizable works during her time at Rörstrand.

Hertha Bengtson (1917–1993) joined Rörstrand in 1941. She excelled at using blue and delicate surface treatments to allow objects to display different beauty in the light. She was also renowned for designs that were durable, practical, and could accompany families for a long time. Her works often quietly appeared on Nordic family dining tables, used daily rather than merely collected.

• Series: Blå Eld
• Designed Year: 1950
• Size: Height 18.5 cm

• Discontinued: Produced between 1951–1971. The Blå Eld series was discontinued in 1971, due to the factory’s transition and the designer’s departure. Today, it can only be found in auctions and among collectors, and remains one of the most iconic works in Swedish ceramic history.

In 2026, Rörstrand will celebrate its 300th anniversary, commemorating it by reissuing some items from the "Blå Eld" series; the teapot is not yet included in this reissue.
