The Risporslin series, designed by Friedl Holzer‑Kjellberg, is one of Arabia's most iconic works from the mid-20th century. Its translucent quality, achieved through the rice grain carving technique, makes the white porcelain appear light and delicate in the light.

Holzer‑Kjellberg developed this technique in the 1940s: rice grain-shaped cutouts were carved into the bisque and then covered with transparent glaze, creating a soft, translucent effect after firing. The oval patterns on the cups and plates, resembling circular rice ears, are the most recognizable design element of the Risporslin series.
