This piece was created by Finnish designer Esteri Tomula (1920–1998). In the Botanica series, she focused on wildflowers and plants from Finnish forests, naming each wall plate after the plant's Latin botanical name, making each piece resemble a serene ceramic botanical specimen.
Tomula captured the essence of plants with minimalist strokes, gently documenting the most common flowers and plants found in Finnish forests.
The Fragaria vesca (wild strawberry) on the plate features red berries and small white flowers rendered with delicate, restrained lines, exuding a light vitality. Placed in a corner of the home, it feels as if the scent of summer wild strawberries lingers in the space.
