#019｜The first warm day after Valborg
On April 30th, the Valborg bonfire festival sends off Sweden's long, dark winter. By May 1st, the warm sunshine returns, and the city feels revitalized.
I took my first walk along Hornsbergs Strand, where the sunlight danced on the water’s surface.
People along the shore enjoyed ice cream and sunbathing, while some brave souls jumped into the still-frigid water, barely reaching 10 degrees. You could feel everyone had eagerly awaited this day.
Cherry blossoms were in full bloom in the neighborhood,
and the ground was covered with fallen petals, like a soft pink carpet.
